Christmas is not over yet!

Since we could not gather together for our Zone Christmas activities we had a drive by Christmas party with the Missionaries. They drove by and we gave them their gifts and President and Sister Zimmerman gave them a gift. It was very festive.

These are our office Elders. Yes that is an amazing Christmas had. I think it came from the Mad Hatter. Everyone was in the Christmas Spirit at the Mission Office.

Yes even Sister Bartlett I got into the act with our Elf hat and ears.

Now those with weak stomachs should not view the following video. Just warning you!

Now that you are sick to your stomach from the Flossing Elf we can continue.

I will call this the Covid angel. Sister Bartlett created it from some of the many face masks we have don’t worry they were not used ones.
To close this blog I will include a couple of poem’s I wrote.
I will call it “Christmas Is”
“Christmas is about Jesus Christ,
And his humble birth.
Christmas is about the Angels,
Declaring he came to earth.
Christmas is about the holy family,
In a manger mild.
Christmas is about the shepherds,
Come to see the child.

I hope you enjoyed that. Now I will include a poem I wrote about our “Sunday before Christmas”.

‘Twas the Sunday before Christmas at 6:30 am,

the Phone started ringing which startled up poor Sam.

The Missionary exclaimed that he threw up all night,

and the pain in his stomach gave us great fright.

To the closet we rose to get ready to go,

do you think we had time to fix breakfast, oh no.

Down the road in our car to his side we did fly,

then on to the emergency room, no lie.

Due to the Covid they did not let us in,

we waited in the car for 5 hours and then.

The doctors decided his appendix was done,

so in a few hours he didn’t have one.

But that is not all that did happen this day,

for two Elders did call us much in dismay.

They were exposed to the Covid virus last Saturday,

and did’t find out till it was today.

We told them they had to stay socially distant,

don’t visit Missionaries or friends right this instant.

You would think that was all that could happen this day,

but there is more story so read on all the way.

For a Sister did call us just a few minutes later,

a dog did bite her while she was visiting a neighbor.

To the Urgent care Sister Bartlett did send,

to see if the doctors her wound there could mend.

After that we did jump when the phone gave a ring,

an Elder who wanted a bike us to bring.

No church did we get for our worship that day,

we did it together with each other did pray.

That no more would our Missionaries have a mishap,

so we could lay down for a long winters nap.

But much to our surprise another did call,

from his leg an ingrown hair he did pull.

Now infection and a sore he does have,

suffering with pain and nothing for salve.

No more did the phone ring and it ended all bright,

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

We love you all and hope you had a very Merry Christmas

Miracle Christmas and a Covid free New Year

First there was Covid and then earthquakes and then firs and now Covid raises it’s ugly head again. That is ok because we are celebrating the greatest miracle ever to happen on earth. That is the miracle of the birth or our Savior Jesus Christ. Joy to the World is what He brought. I want you all to get in the mood for this season by watching “The Christ Child” by following this link. https://youtube.com/watch?v=umwLi5n3WtM&feature=share

Sister Bartlett decided to be creative using face masks. You need something to do with all those left over masks.

One of our districts had a gingerbread house making contest. There were some original designs and some pretty artsy ones. We were part of the judging.

We were at Target and found this cool Lama Christmas Sweater. Our Daughter in Law loves Lamas so when we told here about it. She headed to Target and within 30 minutes she sent us this picture of her in the sweater. Some things you just have to have.

Our Missionaries are getting a lot of packages for Christmas. This is what the Postman brought in just one day. That was only the Postman, we also receive packages from Amazon, FedEx, UPS and others.

This is what our Mission President’s office looked like on Thursday before we started sorting Christmas packages.

On Friday we started sorting the Christmas packages into companionships to be given to Missionaries next week in a drive by Christmas giving next week. We plan to wear our Christmas elf hats we found at the dollar store. Ho Ho Ho!

To sum up this blog we would like to let you know we have been so blessed this year even though Covid is still here and unrest is happening here in the US and around the world. There are still miracles going on all around us. Each day we see videos from our Missionaries telling of the miracles that have happened that day. It is amazing what the Lord is doing in these times. More people are turning to the Lord for answers and they are finding our Missionaries in the process.

Therefore we wish you all a Christmas filled with Miracles and a cure for Covid New Year!
Love,
Elder and Sister Bartlett

It is 2021 why is COVID still here?

Well just before the new year I started getting sick and was staying at home from the Mission Office through New Years. On the Sunday after ...
